Litigation Paralegal - Irvine, CA

An established law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Paralegal for its Irvine, CA office. This role requires substantial experience with state and federal court procedures and a strong working knowledge of rules of evidence and trial practice. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically proficient, and able to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, collaborative litigation environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Draft and prepare legal documents including complaints, motions, discovery, and other pleadings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court rules
  • File and serve motions, briefs, exhibits, appendices, and other documents in state and federal courts, including CM/ECF and File & Serve
  • Conduct legal and factual research to support litigation matters
  • Manage all aspects of electronic discovery, including loading, coding, Bates numbering, production logging, and document searches in Relativity
  • Support attorneys in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial, including logistics, exhibits, witness and expert preparation, and technology needs
  • Create and maintain case management repositories for new matters, with primary responsibility for file organization and timely distribution of court filings
  • Organize discovery, pleadings, research, and case documents for attorney review and trial preparation
  • Prepare binders for hearings, depositions, and trial
  • Communicate with clients and opposing counsel to respond to inquiries and provide case updates
  • Proofread and cite check legal documents for accuracy, formatting, and compliance
  • Track case deadlines and support overall case management needs

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree and paralegal certificate preferred
  • Five to fifteen years of litigation paralegal experience in a mid-size or large law firm
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal court procedures
  • Proficiency with CM/ECF and legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw
  • Relativity experience required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail and deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal document formatting tools

COMPENSATION

  • Estimated salary range for candidates with five to fifteen years of experience is approximately $80,000 to $105,000
